Kids Party Catering in Los Angeles: What to Expect
What real catering looks like for a kids' birthday party in LA -- finger food and sandwich spreads that actually get eaten, and how it fits with the rest of the party.
“Catering” for a kids’ birthday doesn’t look like catering for a wedding, and it shouldn’t. The goal is food that a room full of 6-to-12-year-olds (and their parents) will actually eat between cake, characters, and a bounce house — not a formal spread nobody touches.
What we actually serve
For kids’ birthdays, we keep the food simple and kid-tested: finger food and sandwich spreads — think mini sliders, pinwheel wraps, fruit skewers, and easy-to-grab snacks that don’t need a fork. No buffet lines, no dishes to juggle while chasing a toddler.
If the party’s mixed-age (grandparents, aunts, uncles sticking around), we’ll scale the spread up without turning it into a sit-down meal — the point is still “grab a plate and get back to the party.”
What it’s paired with
Catering is one piece of a kids’ birthday, not the centerpiece. The pieces we coordinate most often alongside it:
- Entertainment — character appearances (superheroes, princesses), kids entertainers, or a petting zoo
- Decorations — balloon arches, balloon bouquets, cardboard cutouts
- Rentals — bouncy castles, tables, chairs
- Dessert table — cupcakes, donuts, and favors, kept separate from the main food so the sugar rush happens on its own schedule
Getting a quote
Every kids’ party is scoped to what you actually need — a backyard party for 15 kids and a rented venue for 60 are different jobs with different catering counts. Tell us the headcount and the vibe and we’ll put together a real quote, not a generic package.
